Nest Fragrances - Wisteria Blue Launched this year (2018), Wisteria Blue (“Wisteria”) is a new offering from Nest Fragrances.   The fragrance is a floral aquatic and was inspired by the Founder and CEO’s (Laura Slatkin) appreciation for the wisteria trees she saw growing up in the south and was recently reminded up during a historic homes tour in Charleston, SC.   On me, this fragrance is all about the lightness and beauty of wisteria.   It is not a fragrance that has much development on wear, although at times a note does come forward for a bit and then recede.   Instead, it is more like an experience of being the delicate, draping wisteria blooms. Apothescary Scents - Annabel Lee Perfume Oil As a fragrance blogger with the curiosity of a cat, I’m always searching for the new and unusual.   I stumbled across this brand while shopping for completely unrelated items.   “What is this?!”   A fragrance brand I had not yet heard of with fragrances that spoke to my love of Poe and other literary greats?   I browsed through the offerings and selected two to try in order to satiate my curiosity and perhaps discover a new love.   Annabel Lee is the first of the two I will be reviewing. Commodity Fragrances – Rain EDP I ordered a sample of Commodity Rain (“Rain”) during a period of weather here where the rain seemed to be non-stop.  I was curious as to how close this floral aquatic could actually get to telling the story of  “a walk in the rain, cleansing, refreshing, as escape to a clean slate in life”.  It should be noted that Rain was a part of the brand’s White Collection which is comprised of scents that are lighter and intended to be worn alone or layered. Rain does, in fact, tell a straightforward story with its notes.  It’s clean, fresh, floral, green, and aquatic.  There is a lightness to the green, moist, opening as it’s layered with a fresh lushness of the florals.  After an initial burst that’s fairly citric and lemony, the Springtime florals appear with a blossoming greenness.  On my skin, the jasmine and lotus blossom are the most prominent of the floral notes although the bergamot and freesia are detectable....
